Julianne and Brooks Play Coy

Let’s Dish:

I’m going to preference this post with the obvious since the universe honestly could not produce a couple cuter than Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich. It’s like cupid pointed to the two most darling souls he could find, shot his arrow and adorable pink and red hearts fluttered across the sky, like snowflakes. From the outside looking in, these two are absolutely perfect, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve been following the lovebirds since their inception as a couple in 2014.

Okay, I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me back up. During my time at Dancing With the Stars, I got to know Julianne pretty well. She’s delightful, superbly sweet, and just as charming in person as she is on-camera (not always the case with many).

We lost touch after I left the show, but I’ve obviously followed her career and dating life post-Hollywood - partly because she’s a past friend and I had a vested interest. When she began dating Brooks, I was obviously thrilled for her. Julianne’s definitely had her ups-and-downs dating, pretty visibly, and she deserves to find a good guy.

Okay stay with me, we’re playing ping-pong - back to Books, he’s a good looking hockey player, who is honestly easy on the eyes (Go, Jules!) and he seems via online presence to have a similar laidback, down to earth demeanor, much like Julianne. The two appeared happy.

Okay, so flip the calendar pages forward to 2017 - I was thrilled to see Julianne and Brooks marry in Idaho, because obviously.

Perhaps that’s why so many of us have been completely taken aback upon the news of potential trouble in snowflake heart paradise. Both Julianne and Brooks came forward late last year with statements regarding their sexuality, and exploration. Interesting, but to each their own. No judgment here.

However, what’s been noticeably different on their separate Instagram pages is that each spouse is noticeably absent from the other’s page. What’s more, Brooks brought a divorce attorney, Laura Waller on his podcast “What Men Think” (podcast he hosts with Gavin DeGraw). Brooks addressed rumors on his relationship telling Waller, "I'm going to change the course of my life. My wife is going to change in the course of her life," He goes on, ”But also, I think people over time can develop some sort of indifference when once there was an attraction. They can just develop an indifference, and it's not staying connected enough to continue to learn and grow and accept your changes, accept their changes and also challenge each other.”

Brooks went on to list helpful resources for couples going through communications issues. He later finished the broadcast by yelling “Divorce Sucks” and telling Waller he hopes never to need her services. However, the two were just spotted out sans wedding rings. How do I post that bright red emoji here with HUGE QUESTION MARKS???? What does this all mean? I seriously can’t figure this couple out. Are they on the outs, or is this a twist on modern marraiges? Why so coy, what are these two trying to convey here? Is this all part of the plan, to keep us talking? Questioning? I guess we’ll have to watch it play out. In the meantime, most know who Julianne Hough is, but do you know who Brooks Laich is? Here are his stats…
